Everything You Need to Know: Spirulina Scrub•
Our Spirulina Sugar Scrub doesn't quite get the recognition it deserves, so we wanted to share this hidden gem with you in its very own post!
This scrub is so beneficial for so many reasons, but you may not know why. Well, let us share!
What is spirulina?
Spirulina is a form of blue/green algae that many people take internally to balance the body's pH and turn it into a more alkalizing environment. In an alkaline environment, bacteria and other harmful toxins cannot thrive or survive, so incorporating spirulina into the body can be very beneficial.
How exactly can it benefit my skin?
Just like spirulina balances the body's pH, it can work miracles on the skin's pH as well. Balancing the skin can also prevent bacteria and harmful toxins from surving, so balancing the skin's pH can help keep acne and clogged pores at bay.
Is it right for me?
This scrub may be right for you if you find yourself struggling with acne on the body &/or face, or if you struggle with clogged pores. While the Spirulina Scrub is safe for use on the face, you'll want to be much more gentle when using it there. For best results, use 2-3x per week, and always follow up with a moisturizer.
If you are suffering from acne, it is important to know that you should never scrub on top of open or scabbed breakouts. This can spread bacteria to other areas of the skin. Scrub around those areas until healed.
What does it smell like?
Seaweed of course!
Yea, we know it doesn't have the BEST scent in the world, but just like our Acne Spot Treatment, this product is designed for a purpose and not designed for scent.
